Location: Mason, MI
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 /Year
Under the direction of the administrator and in close compliance with established procedures and policies, provides accounting of assigned functions for payroll, benefits and human resources. This position also serves as a resource to ISD and constituent district staff on payroll, benefit and human resources issues. Please see website for full description.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business related field. Five to seven years of progressively more responsible experience in school payroll or accounting position may be used in lieu of degree.
Three to five years of recent and relevant experience in a payroll or accounting position. Experience in school payroll or accounting is preferred.
Michigan School Business Official (MSBO) Payroll Specialist certification preferred.
Excellent customer service skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with Ingham ISD and constituent district staff, vendors and agencies.
Ability to evaluate information from multiple sources in order to assure compliance with regulations and policies including but not limited to IISD Board policies and Federal and State laws and regulations.
Ability to implement new initiatives for continuous improvement of processes and services.
Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced skills with technology tools to create complex spreadsheets and databases, enter and manipulate data, create and generate reports and documents in a user-friendly manner.
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member.
Demonstrated ability to work with confidential data.
In-depth knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, operations and terminology.
