Summary

The Human Resources Clerk provides clerical support to the Human Resources department.



Duties and Responsibilities

Complete ongoing compliance projects as instructed by the Human Resources Director and Chief Compliance Officer.

Verifies I-9 documentation and performs I-9 audits as necessary.

Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical duties.

Prepares new employee files.

Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files. 

Ensure medical files are up to date.

Create and review personnel files for AHCA.

Assemble Handbooks for new employees.

Complete required paperwork and checklists.

Ensures that all HIPAA standards are in compliance.

Maintains manager and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential.

Performs duties in honest and ethical manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.




Job Requirements

Qualifications


Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in the HR field preferred.

MS Office programs experience.




Skills:

Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the human resources function.

Must be familiar with overtime and other labor laws relevant to the processing of payroll.

Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices 

Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Ability to work with individuals within and outside the organization, in professional and courteous manner.

Ability to support confidential projects, including benefits, compensation, new hire paperwork, etc. with the utmost professionalism.

Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Strong ability to use independent judgment and initiative.

Organized and able to manage competing priorities.

Resourcefulness in problem solving. 

Actively look for ways to help people.

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Must be extremely detail oriented.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Basic mathematical skills.

Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish)
