Human Resource Business Partner ( Employee Relations )
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is one of the largest retailers of closeouts and surplus merchandise in the Mid-Atlantic Region. We currently operate 234 stores in 19 states with continued plans for expansion. We are currently seeking experienced human resource professionals to help support our 6,500+ associates. These positions are key to aiding in the advancement of our team, as well as our organization.
Provide generalist HR support for a dedicated group of retail stores.
- Handle on boarding process (offer letters, background checks, etc.).
- Leave of absence management.
- Build relationships and partner with store management to create the ultimate work experience.
- Positively manages employee relation issues (investigations, progressive discipline, development plans, etc.).
- Monitors federal and state laws to ensure compliance.
- Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Comfortable interacting with, supporting and appropriately challenging district and store leaders.
- Assist with developing and administering training initiatives.
- Continually provide HR tools and resources to ensure success at all levels.
- Work closely with Senior HR Director in developing policies, procedures and initiatives to simplify yet strengthen our strategic goals.
- College degree, HR certification or equivalent work experience.
- Must have at least 2 years HR experience.
- Able to work in a fast paced dynamic environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience dealing in employee relations.
- Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions.
- Identify problems and implement solutions.
- Big picture thinker.
- Proactive processor.
